The Iranian and South African presidents call for international cooperation to establish security and stability in Syria and Yemen
During a telephone conversation with his South African counterpart Cyril Ramaphosaon April 28, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani stressed the need for enhancing international efforts to support a political solution in Syria and Yemen that would establish security and stability in both countries.
Rouhani and Ramaphosa called for strengthening international cooperation to confront the types of unlawful American embargoes and crimes against humanity to which the oppressed Palestinian people are exposed by the Israeli occupation entity.
Rouhani pointed to the illegal and inhuman American measures against the Iranian people.
“We are in a state where due to the rapid spread of the Corona in the world there is a need to change the vision in international relations. We believe that, unfortunately, America tightens the illegal ban on the Iranian people and ignores all international laws,” Rouhani said.
Rouhani added that the United Nations and international organizations are expected to oppose the American unilateral and illegal unilateral embargo on Iran, pointing in this context to the non-permanent membership of South Africa in the United Nations Security Council.
For his part, Ramaphosa expressed his country’s support for Iran in the face of unjust and unlawful US measures.
