Russian embassy in Beirut: Fake news about Russian stand towards Syria is an episode of misleading series
Beirut (ST): The Russian embassy in Beirut affirmed that the news recently circulated by some mass media and social media networks about the Russian stand towards what is happening in Syria is false and an episode in a misleading series
In a statement released by the embassy and published by the Lebanese National News Agency, it affirmed that these lies are part of a misleading series that aim to delude people through claiming that the Russians are striking deals with the Americans and Turks to divide influence on the Syrian territories.
The embassy added that these lies have been continuous over the past years and are doomed to failure as was the case of previous ones, pointing out that there is no need to respond in detail to fabricated news that aim to distort facts.
The statement went on to say that the analysts who claim that Russia is thinking of a swap with the Americans and the Turks at the expense of Syria’s sovereignty do not know the reality of the Russian stand and do not understand the nature of the current world order which requires equal dialogue about the issues of international security and strategic stability, stressing that conducting such dialogue is impossible without adhering to the principle of respecting sovereignty of states.
The embassy concluded that Russia would press ahead with its independent and constructive approach in defence of justice and the legitimate rights of peoples according to UN charter, and would never accept suspicious deals at the expense of others.
