Vocational Schools in Lattakia Produce Protective Masks

The Coronavirus pandemic has affected the educational systems worldwide as universities and schools are facing unprecedented challenges across the world.

 With a high sense of responsibility and within the precautionary measures to address the Corona virus, the Ministry of Education has undertaken a distinguished initiative to support the health sector  through producing protective  masks in vocational schools to meet the growing need for them in these circumstances.

To shed light  on the initiative Syriatimes e-newspaper interviewed Deputy Director of Education for Vocational and Technical Education in Lattakia ,Eng. Na’ema Hamoud.

 “technical and vocational education in Syria has been given special attention by the Syrian government due to its integral part of national development strategy and its close link to labor market “, Eng. Hamoud  said.

“ we are facing an unusual situation with a large number of countries affected by the same issue at the same time . No doubt that we are facing a global change which requires collective cooperation ” Eng. Hamoud stressed.

She underscored that this initiative enhances the role of vocational training ‘s notable  role in  supporting national economy .

Eng. Hamoud made it clear that the teaching staff at five  vocational training schools in the province have joined the country’s efforts to contain the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic by producing protective masks, which have been on high demand since the outbreak.

7000 protective masks of high quality , according to Eng. Hamoud ,  have been produced by specialized, skilled and well-qualified vocational training and teaching staff with strict adherence to all health procedures , sterilization of the place and all work equipment used.

On their part , a number of vocational training teachers , who participated in producing protective masks, told Syriatimes that they were inspired and motivated to take part  effectively in the initiative and worked  with great enthusiasm.

They valued highly this initiative which  provided them an opportunity  to express their noble feelings of responsibility to participate in protecting  their homeland, stressing the immediate priority must be to protect people from coronavirus and prevent its spread.
