On the 74th anniversary of the National Independence Day, Syrian people remember with great pride the heroic deeds of their fathers and forefathers in confrontation of the French occupation to attain the independence of the homeland.
The Syrians nation-wide remember the great struggle of Yousef al-Azmeh, Sultan Pasha al-Atrash, Ibrahim Hanano, Saleh al-Ali, Moammad al-Ashmar and many others who sacrificed their lives for the sake of achieving freedom, independence and preserving national unity inspiring the great meanings of dignity, heroism and sacrifice.
Researcher Fandi Abu Fakhr said that protecting independence is a task given to us by the leader of the Great Syrian Revolution Sultan Pasha al-Atrash.
Writer Mo’een al Amatori said that the slogan of the Great Syrian Revolution was “Religion is for God and the Homeland is for all,” noting that this slogan changed later into the culture of resistance. He added that this slogan has founded a revolutionary policy to resist the Israeli occupation, and it has been translated into reality by the heroes of the Syrian Arab army in confronting terrorism on the Syrian territories.
Writer Ibrahim Judiah said that national independence did not come as a co-incidence, but it was the outcome of unabated resistance and relentless struggle of our grandfathers who managed to defeat the French occupiers in a humiliating way. Inspiring the heroic deeds of their fathers and forefathers, the heroes of the Syrian Arab army are following in their footsteps in confronting the unfair war launched against Syria and uprooting terrorist organizations operating on the Syrian territories.
From the city of Tartous, the mother of the two martyrs Bashar and Wassim Wardeh, who fell in the battle against terrorism, said that her sons offered their lives for the sake of their people and homeland as their grandfathers did in confrontation of the French occupation.
Mais Shalouf, the wife of Ali Daghmeh, who fell martyr in 2014, said that she would bring up her three children on the culture of resistance through narrating to the them the heroic deeds of the Syrian Arab army heroes in confrontation of terrorism and the glorious stories of our grandfathers who defeated the French occupation and regained the independence of the homeland.
