Moscow calls on not politicizing cornavirus crisis

Moscow, (ST) –  The Russian Foreign Ministry considered Washington’s recent allegations against the World Health Organization an attempt to evade responsibility for the situation of the Covid 19 epidemic in the United States.

US President Donald Trump had earlier threatened to suspend the payment of the US financial contribution to the World Health Organization, accusing it of “failing to envision the effects of the Corona virus outbreak.”

“It is very important to avoid politicizing the Corona crisis, which represents a global challenge for the entire international community and requires coordinated action from all countries,” Sputnik said, quoting the ministry as saying in a statement.

In turn, he called the Director of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom, not to politicize the issue of the outbreak of the new Corona virus, as part of his response to Trump’s attack on the organization.

Trump previously declared a “major catastrophe” in all fifty US states due to the pandemic of the emerging Corona virus, after the United States became the first country to be affected most by the epidemic, after the number of people infected reached about half a million.
