DAMASCUS, (ST)- The Health Ministry announced on Saturday that six new coronavirus cases were confirmed in the country raising the number of the infection to 25. The ministry also announced that one new case out of the registered ones has recovered.
Earlier, the ministry announced that four covid-19 patients have recovered and two others have died.
The first coronavirus case was detected on March 23. The case was a person who came from abroad.
In same context and within the framework of the government’s measures to prevent further spread of coronavirus pandemic, the government’s team in charge of the anti-coronavirus strategy decided to extend the closure of universities and schools until May 2, 2020.
During a meeting held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imad Khamis, the team stressed the need to strictly apply the imposed partial curfew in all areas in order to limit gatherings and contact that may negatively affect the public safety.
