Committee for Solidarity with Arab and Palestinian Prisoners in Israeli jails urges lifting US sanctions imposed on Syria

BEIRUT, (ST)- The International Committee for Solidarity with Arab and Palestinian Prisoners in the Israeli jails has again called for lifting the illegal sanctions imposed by the United States on Syria.

“While the world is in a state of grave concern about a pandemic that could threaten the fate of the entire humanity, the United States insists on imposing a blockade on the Syrian people to prevent the delivery of medicines necessary to confront coronavirus in Syria,” the committee said in a statement on Tuesday.

The committee added that imposing a food blockade and facilitating the spread of epidemics are the most brutal types of wars, reiterating that Syria’s steadfastness in the face of a global aggression necessitates that all freedom-loving peoples join efforts to condemn this blockade and insist on lifting it because such a blockade is a stigma in the history of mankind.
