China grants Syria a virus test kit for diagnosing 2000 cases

The Chinese ambassador to Syria Feng Biao tweeted on Sunday that the Chinese government has decided to grant Syria a virus test kit for diagnosing 2000 cases per day. He stressed that the grant is the first part of the Chinese medical assistance to the Syrian people.

Yesterday, the Syrian Health Ministry confirmed the first Coronavirus case in Syria. It was a 20-year old girl who had arrived from abroad.

Biao stressed that his country will always be a strong supporter for the Syrian people and will back the Syrian government’s efforts to combat coronavirus.

The Chinese aid came as the United States and some western countries are still imposing unfair sanctions that prevent the Syrian government from obtaining sophisticated medicine and medical equipment necessary to confront a possible spread of coronavirus in Syria.
