As a precaution to counter Corona … suspending the publication of paper newspapers until further notice

Damascus,(ST)-As a precautionary government measure to tackle the Coronavirus, and in the context of pre-emptive steps to preserve public health, the Ministry of Information decided to suspend the publication of  newspapers until further notice, but will continue to publish online.

The decision came during a meeting at the Ministry of Information chaired by the Minister of Information Imad Sarah, which included the chief editors of local newspapers to discuss the process of distributing  newspapers and the risks of corona virus transmission , in addition to the issue of adherence to the government’s decision to stop inter-governorate transportation and its impact on distribution operations.
