Health Ministry designates Al-Zabadani Hospital as a medical isolation center
DAMASCUS, (ST)- The Health Ministry has designated the Zabadani Hospital in Damascus countryside as a medical isolation center in case any novel coronavirus cases are confirmed in Syria.
This new move comes within the framework of the government’s procedures to confront coronavirus.
Minster of Health Nizar Yazigi toured the hospital to inspect the preparations and the available equipment making sure that this place is a suitable medical isolation center.
He made it clear that the center is a well-sterilized medical place where best qualified medical staff work.
Director of Damascus Health Directorate Yaseen Na’nous said that the Al-Zabadani Hospital contains 100 beds and an 8-bed intensive care room and four ventilators, adding that work is underway to prepare four more ventilators.
The crew of the hospital consists of 220 doctors and technicians who are trained enough to deal with such epidemic diseases.
