Moscow Patriarch: Extremist Groups Feed Fundamentalism Among Syrians

 MOSCOW, (ST) – Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia has stressed that a dangerous situation is being escalated in Syria as extremist groups, seeking power, keep adopting terrorist methods against the Syrians and try to feed fundamentalism among them.

During a reception held on Tuesday at the Russian Foreign Ministry to celebrate Easter, Kirill hoped that this dangerous issue will be presented at the forthcoming International Conference on Syria so as the international community do something to put an end to the ongoing terrorist acts.

Patriarch Kirill warned of the escalation of violence against Christians in some Arab and African countries, pointing out that violence against Christians increased notably last year in Nigeria, Somalia, Sudan and other countries.
