The second round of the Iranian Shura Council elections was postponed till September 11

Tehran,(ST)-Today, The spokesman for the Guardian Council, Abbas Ali Kaddakhi, announced that the second round of legislative elections in the country will be postponed to the 11th of next September.

Kadkhadai said in a statement to the Iranian Fars News Agency that “the Minister of Interior sent a message to the Council requesting that the date of the second round of elections for the eleventh session of the Islamic Shura Council be postponed to the 11th or the 18th of next September, due to the country’s circumstances and the spread of the Corona virus.

He added that the Guardians Council, after a thorough study, approved the Ministry of Interior’s proposal to hold the second round of elections on the 11th of September, after it was scheduled on the 17th of next April.
