A civilian was killed in an American air strike that targeted Karbala’a airport in al-Najaf governorate, a number of Iraqi army and police positions and positions for al-Hashd al-Sha’abi (popular mobilization forces)
Al- Sumaria news website quoted an Iraqi security source as saying that American warplanes targeted Karabala’ airport with three rockets causing the death of a worker in the airport and huge material damage.
The Iraqi Security Media Cell also issued a statement in which it said that the American air strikes also targeted positions affiliated to the police, army and al-Hashd al-Sha’abi.
The US Pentagon claimed that the US warplanes targeted five positions for storing weapons.
Earlier, American officials had announced that two Americans and a Briton were killed and twelve others wounded in a missile attack against al-Taji camp in the Iraqi capital.
Last January, the Iraqi House of Representatives unanimously voted for ending the foreign military presence in Iraq in the aftermath of the American crimes committed against Iraqi people.
