UN calls on world states to intensify efforts against corona virus

New York (ST): UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres called on all states to scale up their efforts to combat Corona virus.

France Press Agency quoted Guterres as saying in a statement that declaring the corona virus as a pandemic is a call for all states and governments to take effective measures to fight the disease.

He added that the declaration of corona virus as a pandemic is also a call for all world peoples to unify in confrontation of the disease.

Meanwhile, the UN Security Council decided to limit its meetings this month.

More than 118000 people have been infected with the corona-virus in more than 114 states. The deaths resulting from this virus infection rose to 4290 according to the World Health Organization.
