Erdogan trying to escape his internal problems through interfering in Syria, stirring up refugee crisis: former Indian diplomat

NEW DELHI, (ST)- The Turkish regime of President Recep Tayyib Erdogan is protecting and supporting terrorist organizations in Syria and trying to impede the Syrian government’s efforts to eliminate terrorism in Idleb and restore security and stability countrywide, the  former Indian Ambassador in Damascus Rajendra Abhyankar has stressed.

Abhyankar, a former ambassador to Syria, Turkey and Cyprus and a Secretary at the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, said that Erdogan is practicing deception to protect terrorists in Syria, reiterating the Syrian state’s right to eradicate terrorism on its territory.

Erdogan is trying to escape his internal crises through interfering in Syria and stirring up the refugee crisis, the Indian former diplomat said, pointing out that despite all the current difficult circumstances, Syria is going ahead with reconstruction and is restoring its pivotal role in the region.
