Dr. al-Sayyed lectures on importance of Arabic Language

Damascus (ST): Minister of Religious Endowments Dr. Mohammad Abdul Sattar al-Sayyed affirmed the necessity of paying more attention to teaching classical Arabic Language and immunizing it against distortion, because it is the main factor for protecting Arab culture, heritage and civilization.

In a lecture he delivered at al-Assad Library, Dr. al-Sayyed said that Arabic Language is the main component of the Arab nation and it is sacred, because it is the language of the Holy Koran which has been preserving it against distortion.

The Minister made a link between what was made by the Ottoman authorities over four centuries of occupation  and what was made by Erdogan’s regime in the areas recently liberated by the Syrian Arab army and the attempts made to wipe out the Arabic language and replace it by the Turkish language.

He stressed that the Syrian Arab army has been confronting the Turkish invasion and atrocious crimes bravely.

Dr. al-Sayyed concluded his lecture saying that hat the Ottoman ideology in the past, Wahabbism and Erdogan’s regime in the present are responsible for creating extremism, Takfiri terrorism and backwardness.
