Iranian Foreign Ministry: Political track only way to settle crisis in Syria

Tehran, (ST)- Iranian Foreign Ministry reaffirmed that the political track is the only way to settle the crisis in Syria, underlining the necessity to cooperate with the Syrian Government for achieving this goal.

In his weekly press conference, the Ministry’s Spokesman Abbas Mousavi underlined the importance of Astana track in order to come up with outcomes in framework of settling the crisis in Syria.

On the other hand, Mousavi indicated that consultations are ongoing with regard to holding a tripartite summit between the guarantor states of Astana process on Syria.

 

On Saturday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani stressed in a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin the importance of implementing Astana understandings soonest possible and of uprooting terrorism in Idleb.
