Egyptian writers and journalists affirm solidarity with Syria against terrorism

CAIRO,(ST)- A delegation of Egyptian writers and journalists have affirmed their solidarity with Syria in its war against terrorism, stressing that Syria is the beating heart of Arabism.

During their meeting with Dr. Bassam Darwish, the Chargé d’Affairs of the Syrian Embassy in Egypt, the writers and journalists denounced the Zionist-American and Turkish conspiracy hatched against Syria.

Sayed Hussein, a journalist for Al-Gomhuria newspaper, said: “Syria is the beating heart of Arabism and it will win against terrorism and conspiracies,” stressing that Egypt and Syria share common destiny and goal.

Mohsen Abdel Aziz, a writer for Al-Ahram newspaper, pointed out that it is natural for Egypt to support Syria because they are one country, while the critic and journalist Khairia Al-Bashlawi praised the distinguished Syrian cinema industry and called for holding a cultural activity that shows the Syrian cinema in Egypt to realize the language of the cinematic image, which is another aspect of the media, stressing that the real battle, is with the Israeli enemy.

 “It is Syria’s fate to be the fort of steadfastness of the Arab nation,” said the journalist Jamal Abu Aliu, adding that the Syrian Arab Army is the only army that has the capabilities to confront the new Tatars, the nation’s enemies who target all centers of civilization and human culture.

For his part, Maher Zuhdi, a writer for Al-Arabi newspaper, made it clear that Syria which has faced aggression and global conspiracy, has managed to defeat terrorism and its makers and supporters and has achieved victories over all those who conspired against it, pointing out that the cinema industry is an important kind of weapons and confrontation tools.

Noura Khalaf, writer for Al-Gomhuria newspaper, said that Egypt and Syrian enjoy deep-rooted relations and that Egypt’s  national security starts from Syria, noting that the reactionary Gulf states are spending money for the elimination of civilized countries, but Syria has shattered these illusions and schemes thanks to its steadfastness in the face of all conspiracies hatched by masters of those reactionary regimes.

For his part, Darwish said that Syria had defeated terrorism thanks to  the determination and the great  sacrifices of its valiant army and it will foil the Turkish crazy project in the region, stressing that all terrorist organizations, regardless of their names, have emerged from the womb of the Muslim Brotherhood.
