Belarus Embassy in Damascus holds a reception on the occasion of the Belarusian Armed Forces Day

The Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Damascus held on Wednesday a reception on the occasion of the Belarusian Armed Forces Day at the Sheraton Hotel in Damascus.

Colonel Denis Stasivich, the military attaché at the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Damascus, highlighted the efforts exerted by the Syrian Arab Army with the support of allies to confront terrorism and the terrorist organizations, expressing confidence in pursuing and strengthening joint work between the armed forces in Belarus and Syria to defeat terrorism.

For his part, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ayman Sosan praised Belarus’s stances in support of Syria in its war against terrorism, highlighting the historical friendship relations between the two countries and the commitment to the provisions of international law in respecting the sovereignty of states and non-interference in their affairs.

Sousan pointed to the victories and field achievements realized by the Syrian Arab Army with the support of allies in Idlib and Aleppo countryside, stressing that there is no place for terrorism and its sponsors on Syrian soil that will return stronger and more powerful.

The reception was attended by Deputy Defense Minister General Mahmoud al-Shawa, a number of army and armed forces officers, and a number of heads and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Damascus.
