The Ministry of Health continues to implement its strict precautionary measures related to prevent the transmission of Coronavirus by examining travelers coming to Syria at airports and all crossings border in accordance with international health regulations.
Director of Damascus Health Dr. Hazar Raef told SANA that the Ministry of Health laid down a national plan as preventive measures to prevent the transmission of the Coronavirus and that all these procedures are carried out within the international health regulations.
Dr. Raef confirmed that no Coronavirus infection has been recorded so far in Syria, calling on citizens not to believe what is released via social media , and that if any infection is recorded, it will be officially announced.
Health staff and workers at the crossings border were provided with protective clothing and masks, especially flight attendants working on public and private airlines, Dr. Raef said, adding that the workers were informed to examine the travelers arriving to Syria via Damascus International Airport as well as all crossing borders.
On the other hand, a number of health cadres were trained and qualified within health centers and hospitals in the various governorates to raise awareness about the virus and its symptoms and the way to deal with any suspected case, Raef said.
