Industry Minister visits al-Zerbeh industrial area in Aleppo to inspect the situation in damaged factories

ALEPPO, (ST)- Within the framework of the Syrian government’s  plans to rehabilitate, re-launch production in industrial facilities in Aleppo and facilitate the return of industrialists to their factories in the areas liberated from terrorism by the Syrian Arab Army, Industry Ministe Maan Zein Al-Abidin Jazbeh on Saturday  inspected the situation in a number of damaged factories  in al-Zerbeh industrial area on Aleppo-Damascus international highway and that specialize in the food, textile, pharmaceutical and engineering industries.

The minister was briefed on the damage and destruction caused to the industrial facilities by the terrorist organizations that had taken these facilities as  headquarters and stolen their contents and production lines.

 In a statement to journalists  Eng. Jazbeh stressed the need to work out  a working plan to carry out a survey on the needs of the liberated factories and the social and economic needs of al-Zerbeh area.

He highlighted the diversity of production of the factories in al-Zerbeh industrial zone  before the crisis, including food, engineering, pharmaceutical, wood  and chemical industries.

He affirmed these facilities’ key contribution to exportation, to supporting the national economy and to qualifying working force.

In a statement to SANA correspondent, Eng. Fares Al-Shehabi, Head of the Aleppo Chamber of Industry, explained the importance of issuing laws to facilitate resuming production in the damaged industrial facilities in Al-Zerbeh  as soon as possible, underlining continuous coordination with the government to provide the necessary support for the return of industrialists to their factories.

On their part, a number of  industrialist  expressed their happiness to return to their facilities  and put them into service again, condemning  the brutal and systematic destruction of Al- Zerbeh industrial zone.

They called for providing necessary production requirements and  government’s support.

The Minister of Industry  also visited the Al-Zerbeh electricity substation, one of the most important electricity substations in Aleppo with a capacity of 400/230 “KVA”, where he  called for conducting necessary maintenance in the station in order to supply the neighboring industrial facilities to help them start production again. He noted the government’s willingness to secure all requirements for its maintenance and rehabilitation.
