A civilian martyred, another wounded as US occupation forces open fire on locals in Khirbet Ammo village near Qamishli city

HASAKA, (ST)- A civilian was martyred and another was wounded on Wednesday after US occupation forces opened fire on the locals of Khirbet Ammo and Hamou villages to the east of Qamishli city who were gathering near a Syrian Army checkpoint that prevented US vehicles from passing.

Meantime, the locals of of Bower al-Bou’asi threw stones on the US occupation’s vehicles and pulled the American flag down.

SANA reporter in Hasaka said that the army checkpoint stopped the US occupation military vehicles driving along al-Swis/Alaya/Khirbet Ammo road to the east of Qamishli. As a result, hundreds of residents of Khirbet Ammo and Hamou villages gathered at the checkpoint to prevent the vehicles from passing and force them to return to where they came.

 The reporter added that the US forces opened live ammunition and smoke bombs on the locals causing the martyrdom of a civilian from Kirbet Ammo village and wounding another from Hamou village.

In retaliation, the locals managed to damage four of the occupation vehicles.

The occupation troops sent five other military vehicles as reinforcement to remove the damaged vehicles and evacuate their crews.

Later, SANA reporter said that the US occupation warplanes conducted three airstrikes against Khirbet Ammo village.

He added that direct clashes erupted between the US forces and the locals of the village with light weapons.
