Army General Command: Turkish attacks won’t prevent the Syrian Army from pressing ahead with fighting takfiri terrorism

DAMASCUS, (ST)- The attacks of the Turkish regime forces on Syrian territories won’t succeed in protecting takfiri terrorism or preventing the Syrian army from pressing ahead with its combat operations in the province of Idleb and in the west of Aleppo to eliminate terrorist groups under different names and to restore security and stability countrywide, a statement by the Syrian Army General Command said on Tuesday.

The command made it clear that the Turkish regime continues to escalate its aggressive acts against Syrian territories in a flagrant violation of the international law and the principle of respecting the sovereignty of independent states. The aim is to impede the progress of the Syrian Arab Army and prevent the collapse of the internationally blacklisted terrorist groups in Idleb and the western part of Aleppo, the ministry pointed out.

“The Turkish regime has deployed more troops in Syria and intensified its rocket attacks against residential areas and Syrian army positions in order to help the terrorists enhance their control over Syrian areas, use civilians as human shields and continue committing more crimes and systematic destruction,” the command said.

The Syrian Arab Army will continue to do its constitutional and national duty and will be ready to retaliate against the Turkish occupation’s attacks and to defend the security of the homeland and citizens.
