Sabbagh calls for enhancing resistance to foil US-Israeli schemes against just Arab causes

AMMAN, (ST)- The so-called “Deal of the Century”, recently announced by US President Donald Trump, has confirmed the strong alliance between Washington and the Israeli occupation entity, urging the Arab Nation to enhance resistance in order to foil schemes that target the nation’s just causes, mainly the Palestinian cause, Speaker of the Syrian People’s Assembly (PA) Hammoudah Sabbagh has stressed.

During the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (APU) emergency session on Saturday in Amman, Sabbagh said that the so-called “Deal of the Century” is part of the US and Israeli continuous attempts to undermine the Palestinian cause and open the door for implementing the so-called “Greater or New Middle East” scheme.

He called for a unified effective Arab stance to confront the American-Israeli schemes that target Arab rights as well as the present and future of the Arab nation.

He also called on Arab parliamentarians to unify their stances against America’s disrespect of international legitimacy resolutions and in support of implementing international resolutions, mainly ending the Israeli occupation of Arab territories and guaranteeing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, on the top of which is the right to repatriation and to build an independent sovereign Palestinian state with al-Quds as a capital.

He pointed out that the Syrian people’s experience over the past nine years has proved the correct path of resistance and steadfastness as the option to foil enemies’ schemes.

He reiterated that Syria has stressed that Palestine will continue to be the Syrian people’s national and central cause.
