OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (ST) _The people ‘s Committee in Defense of Syria on Friday organized in Bethlehem, South of the West Bank a solidarity rally with Syria and its people against acts of destruction and killing perpetrated by terrorist groups supported and funded by Western and Arab Gulf countries and Turkey.
Hundreds of Palestinian marchers who raised Syrian and Palestinian flags ,roamed Dheisheh camp alleys in Bethlehem confirmed their full support to Syria, and rejection of foreign interference in its internal affairs.
The participants raised slogans “Do not kill Sham .. Arabism is defeated without Sham ” and paid tribute to the Syrian Arab army in defending the honor of the Arab nation, stressing that the Syria and Palestine are exposed to the same conspiracy to liquidate its case.
Several Members of the Popular Committee in Defense of Syria in Bethlehem including Talal Shehadeh and Ahmad Hanin stressed that the solidarity march expresses rejection of massacres against the Syrian people by terrorist gangs.
A statement by the People’s Committee in defense of Syria in Bethlehem confirmed that Syria ‘s army, people and leadership will be victorious as a guarantor for the restoration of Palestinian national rights , referring to the common destiny and struggle of the Syrian and Palestinian people and the historical and geographical union between Syria and her Palestinian south .
On the other hand, Bishop Atallah Hanna Archbishop of Sebastia Orthodox voiced solidarity with Syria who ” sided with the Palestinian people since the Nakba in 1948 , welcomed received the Palestinian refugees and embraced their cause and resistance fighters and heroes who stood in the face of Israel.”
Bishop Hanna also held on Friday morning a Mass at the Church of the Resurrection in old occupied Jerusalem , attended by a group of priests and deacons, and a crowd of worshipers in solidarity with the two bishops : Paul Yazigi Metropolitan of Aleppo and Iskenderun and Surroundings Orthodox and John Ibrahim Metropolitan of Aleppo and surroundings for the Syrian Orthodox who were abducted by terrorist groups in Aleppo countryside with all the abductees and those who are suffering in Syria.
