Syria Will Emerge Victorious from War- Aoun

Beirut, (ST) _Head of Change and Reform Bloc in  the Lebanese parliament  Gen. Michel Aoun stressed that the Arab countries are  living  an Arab hell , not  an Arab spring with various  forms of violence practiced in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Syria and others.

In  an interview with al-Mayadeen  TV Channel on Friday, Aoun said  what is happening in the region infiltrated into  Lebanese territory through the state ‘s  intentioned negligence as it  distanced itself from what is happening in Syria but not from what is taking place  in certain  Lebanese regions including Tripoli, ,Akkar ,Arsal and Wadi Khaled, which turned into buffer zones for smuggling  militants  and weapons into Syria .

He  reiterated that Syria will win the war targeting it  and its leadership  will remain in power and countries that boycotted  it will dialogue with her again .

“There are two choices in  Lebanon: the self defense  option represented by resistance  , which we support, and the second is the option to surrender” he  emphasized.

He considered that the fall of the Orthodox draft election law at  the Lebanese parliament  is a setback for Christians in Lebanon, holding the Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea responsible for this decline as it seeks to gain power by offering concessions to his allies.

Aoun explained that the election law  crisis forced  Lebanese to choose between extending power to the  current parliament or move towards elections according to current law,  of 1960 ,  noting that  one of the two options must be worked on  to avoid a constitutional vacuum.

Aoun stressed that  positions of Walid Jumblatt, head of the Progressive Socialist Party are not strategic  and he has his own  interests he hunts for  wherever they  are that  he does not mind changing quickly.
