DAMASCUS, (ST)_Syria is outraged at the insistence of the Turkish regime’s head in lying continuously about his acts towards Syria, especially his claim about sending Turkish troops to the north of Aleppo in accordance with the Adana agreement.
A statement made by a source at the Ministry of Expatriates and Foreign Affairs said that Syria asserts that the Adana agreement, which was signed by Syria and Turkey in 1998 to secure the border of the two countries, necessitates coordination between Damascus and Ankara and it does not permit Erdogan to act individually.
“Actually, Adana agreement aims at combating terrorism but what Erdogan is doing now is protecting his terrorist tools, which he has supported in all ways and by all means,” the source said, affirming that the remarks of the Turkish regime’s head is evidence of his policy of misleading and lying and his disrespect for any agreement reached during Astana and Sochi talks or Adana agreement.
It affirmed that Turkish aggressive policy is doomed to fail.
