Yemeni women took to the streets of Sanaa to protest against US-Israeli “Deal of the Century”

SANAA, (ST)- Hundreds of Yemeni women took to the streets of the Yemeni Capital, Sanaa, to protest against the US-Israeli ill-famed “Deal of the Century” and express solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Demonstrators lifted the Yemeni and Palestinian flags and chanted slogans condemning the deal and stressing the Yemeni people’s support for the Palestinian cause and their rejection of the Zionist scheme.

They called on all freedom-loving peoples to do their duty in supporting the Palestinian cause and defending the Palestinian holy shrines including al-Aqsa Mosque.

Also in Sanaa, the Yemeni Popular Front for Supporting Resistance asserted in a statement on Saturday that the so-called “Deal of the Century” aims at establishing complete normalization with the Zionist entity in order to enable Israel to dominate the Arab nation’s potentials and steal its resources.

The statement reiterated the ability of the axis of resistance to foil this deal and undermine the normalization scheme.

“Al-Quds and the Palestinian cause are not for sale”, says Abbas

Earlier in occupied Palestine, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has reaffirmed that the so-called “Deal of the Century” is categorically rejected, because the Palestinian people are determined not to give up any of their national principles, foremost of which is the establishment of the Palestinian state with al-Quds (Jerusalem) as a capital.

During an urgent meeting at the Arab League in Cairo on Saturday, Abbas said “al-Quds and the Palestinian cause are not for sale and we categorically reject the Deal of the Century.”

“This deal disregards all international legitimacy resolutions and deepens US President Donald Trump’s own legitimacy,” added Abbas, pointing out that he refused to receive  a copy of the deal to read and refused to talk to Trump or receive any message from him.

He said that Palestine will continue to work with the International Criminal Court and will resort to the Security Council and all international organization for supporting the just Palestinian cause.

He said that the United states is not the sole mediator of the settlement process between the Palestinians and the Israelis, calling for establishing a multi-party international mechanism to help solve the Palestinian cause and for reactivate the International Quartet on the Middle East.

“Deal of the Century” won’t change UNSC resolutions

In Beirut, Russia’s Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Zasypkin said that his country is adherent to the Security Council resolutions on solving the Palestinian cause, reiterating that the so-called “Deal of the Century” won’t change these resolutions.

“Peace can’t be established in the region without the principles agreed upon by the Security Council and the international community and the so-called Deal of the Century won’t lead to peace or any settlement”, Zasypkin said, reiterating that the US policy towards the region is unconstructive.

On his part, Deputy Chief of Hezbollah Executive Council Sheikh Ali Daamoush said that the American-Zionist “Deal of the Century” is an aggression on the entire Arab nation, mainly on resistance movements in the region.

“This American project is the most dangerous attempt to liquidate the Palestinian cause and terminate the historic legitimate rights of the Palestinian people,” Daamoush said, noting the open collusion of some Arab and Gulf states with the US to pressure the Palestinians and force them to surrender and accept this conspiracy.
