MOSCOW, (ST)- Russia has renewed commitment to its pledges regarding the settlement of the crisis in Syria within the framework of Astana talks and Sochi agreement on Syria.
In a statement to journalists on Thursday, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova responded to President of the Turkish regime Recepe Tayyib Erdogan’s claims that Russia hasn’t implemented its pledges pursuant to Astana and Sochi agreement by saying “we are committed to our pledges”.
Regarding the so-called “Deal of the Century” announced by US President Donald Trump, Zakharova said that finding a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is up to the Palestinians and the Israelis only.
She expressed Russia’s willingness to work constructively within the framework of the joint efforts that aim at finding a comprehensive solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict.
“We are determined to have close coordination with the two sides (Palestinians and Israelis) as well as with countries of the Middle East and North Africa and the participants in the Quartet on Middle East and all concerned parties in order to speed up the process of achieving a lasting peace in the Middle East,” Zakharova made it clear.
