President Maduro: Syria has overcome terrorism- deserves peace
On January 25, Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro received Dr. Mohsen Bilal, Member of the Central Command of the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party, in the Venezuelan capital Caracas on the sidelines of the “Global Forum for Life, Sovereignty and Peace, Anti- Imperialism”.
President Maduro affirmed his appreciation to Syria and its people, and to President Bashar al-Assad and his solidarity in fighting terrorism.
During the forum, Dr. Bilal stressed in his speech that Syria stands with Venezuela and Venezuelans against imperialism.
He saluted Venezuela and Cuba, who are currently facing the economic, commercial and financial sanctions imposed by the American administration.
At the end of the forum, President Maduro affirmed in a speech that the meeting aims to mobilize the powers of anti-imperialists and work jointly among countries to defend their peoples and their rights to live in peace.
On the sidelines of his participation in the forum, Dr. Bilal met with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arias and discussed with him the situation in Venezuela.
Dr. Bilal expressed Syria’s full support and full solidarity with the Venezuelan leadership against attempts to interfere in its affairs and sovereignty.
The Syrian Ambassador in Caracas Khalil Al-Bitar and the Secretary of the Central Higher Education Office Maher Kurdi participated in the meetings.
