Slovak politician: The US military presence in Syria is illegal and contrary to international law

Bratislava,(ST)-The head of the Slovak Flast Party judge Stefan Harabin confirmed that the American military presence in Syria is illegal and contrary to international law, and therefore the American forces are occupation forces.

Harabin stressed in a television interview last night that the Americans are present in Syria without the authorization of the United Nations Security Council and without the approval of the Syrian government, and therefore their forces are occupation forces, calling on the Slovak government to disavow US practices in Syria because they are contrary to international law.

He stressed that international law said openly of the inadmissibility of any military action or the imposition of a ban or sanctions on a country without a mandate from the United Nations.

On the assassination of Lt-General Qassem Soleimani, near Baghdad Airport, Harabin said it was a “flagrant violation of international law.”
