Sweida Honors Nation’s Martyrs

SWEIDA, (ST)Martyrs are the most generous and the noblest of all, as they sacrifice for the homeland to live in dignity.

Many different activities were held in all Syrian cities by government and civil society bodies to honor the nation’s martyrs.

The governorate of Al – Sweida celebrated martyrdom by holding an exhibition for artistic works glorifying martyrs.  The event was organized by a number of educated people including teachers and artists.

Nadiem Al –Safadi, an organizer, said the exhibition was held to appreciate martyrs’ sacrifices, particularly within the critical circumstances Syria is experiencing.

” The homeland is currently passing through an ordeal and this exhibition constitutes a simple contribution to the efforts aiming at confronting the foreign conspiracy that has been targeting our stability and security”, Al- Safadi said.

He added ”in this exhibition we wanted to give priority to the key role youths must play in revealing the real causes of the crisis and in standing against the homeland’s enemies”.

 Among the exhibits werea beautiful solid representing the Damascene rose which symbolizes peace, tolerance and love, in addition to basalt sculpts that glorify the homeland and martyrdom.

Sculptor Samir Saleh said “my participation in the exhibition aimed at expressing my support for my homeland and my people in the face of the crisis.I also wanted to express my loyalty to my beloved Syria.”

He added that every Syrian, from his/her position, should contribute to confronting the current ordeal, urging the Syrian people to keep their adherence to preserving national unity.
