Protests continue in a number of Lebanese regions and the army opens the roads

Beirut, (ST) – Protests and sit-ins continued in a number of Lebanese regions today calling for improving the living conditions and fighting corruption.

The Lebanese National News Agency reported that the protesters gathered in front of the financial department in Tripoli, northern Lebanon, and chanted slogans demanding an end to corruption, that employees get the suck leave their offices.

The protesters in Tripoli also close a number of internal, side and main roads while the Lebanese army worked to open them.

The army units opened al-Qalamoun Highway to Beirut, after it was closed by protesters and opened the Ring road to Beirut’s Hamra Street, which was closed by protesters last night.

The army worked to open the closed roads in the Bekaa and the south.

Since October 17, Lebanon has witnessed sit-ins and demonstrations to protest against the deteriorating living conditions. Demonstrations are also demanding a fight against corruption.
