Lebanon regrets losing right to vote at UN General Assembly

BEIRUT, (ST)- The Lebanese Foreign Ministry on Saturday regretted the UN announcement that Lebanon is among the countries which don’t have the right to take part in voting in the General Assembly because they haven’t paid their dues.

In a statement on Saturday, the ministry said that “Lebanon has performed all of its duties and completed all transactions within the legal deadline,” noting that it has checked with the concerned sides on several occasions with no result.

“Regardless of who is responsible, Lebanon is affected in its interests and the prestige and reputation of the state, and it hopes that the issue will be addressed as soon as possible,” added the ministry.
