Russian DM: President Putin praised role of Russian forces during his visit to Damascus

Moscow, (ST)- Russian minister of  defence Sergey Shoygu said that President Vladimir Putin praised during his visit to Syria the efforts being exerted by the Russian forces in combatting international terrorism.

In a speech he made at the Russian Defence Ministry, Shoygu said that the General Commander of the Russian Armed Forces paid a visit to Damascus on January 7th,  met President Bashar al-Assad and visited the Russian forces positions where he praised the ideal implementation of the tasks given to them within the framework of combatting international terrorism.

He added that during the talks reference  was made to the gradual improvement of the peaceful life in Syria and the role played by Russian forces in this concern.
