Greeting President Al-Assad, Syrian people and army, released detainee Al-Maqt pledges to press ahead with struggle until complete liberation of Golan.

Quneitra,( ST)- The dean of the Syrian detainees  in the Israeli jails Sedqi Al-Maqt, was released today following a 32 year detention.

“As I was released without any conditions, the Golan will be liberated without any conditions.” Al-Maqt said, following his release. Adding that he would press ahead with his struggle to complete liberation of occupied Golan.

He greeted President Bashar Al-Assad, the Syrian Arab Army and the Syrian people.

“Today we emerged victorious as we achieved victory against terrorism”, Al-Maqt said, greeting all the resistance men in the Syrian Arab Golan. 

He went on to say that he would return to the Golan to continue the process of defeating occupation.

 Al-Maqt went on to say that the Syrian people were never absent from his heart and mind during his imprisonment , noting that the Syrian and Palestinian detainees were together in the battle against occupation and they should be immediately released.

Al-Maqt’s father said that today’s victory is dedicated to President Al-Assad, the steadfast Syrian people and the heroic Syrian Arab army.

Earlier, al-Maqt rejected being released according to certain Israeli preconditions ,which dictated for banning him from returning to his birthplace, the village of Majdal Shams.

Al-Maqt was released in August 2012, but the occupation authorities re-arrested him in February 2015. In May 2017, he was sentenced to 14 years in prison.
