Iran’s Defense Minister: Ending Tension in the Region Depends on Ending the US occupation of it

The Iranian Minister of Defense, Brigadier General  Amir Hatimi, confirmed that the end  of tension in the region depends on ending the  US occupation and  presence in it.

 Hatami said, in a telephone conversation with his Japanese counterpart, Taro Kono, that America’s assassination of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani is a clear example of state  terrorism, which is condemned by  explicit resolutions  of the UN Security Council .

The assassination of  a high-ranked  official and military personality , by another country on the territory of a third country,  is a major unprecedented  crime that has never happened  before.” Hatami added.

 He  called on all independent and free countries in the world to condemn the American terrorist act.

 For his part, the Japanese Minister of Defense affirmed his country’s readiness to play its role in containing tension and establishing stability in the region, stressing his country’s unwillingness to participate in any US-led military alliances in the region.
