Committee for Supporting Syrian Captives: Al-Maqt’s long detention increases his strength and sacrifice

The Committee for Supporting Syrian Released and Detained Captives in Israeli Jails extended congratulations to the  Syrian people for the release of the dean of the Syrian captives Sedqi Al-Maqt who remained steadfast for over three decades in Israeli jails and for the release of captive Amal Abu Saleh, stressing that the long years of detention have strengthened Al-Maqt and his companions and enhanced their steadfastness.

In a statement issued today, the committee said that the Syrian people have proved that they do not accept belonging to any other country than the Syrian Arab Republic.,referring to the legendary steadfastness of Al-Maqt in confrontation of the oppressive and brutal practices of the Zionist occupation forces.

Concluding the statement, the committee extended congratulations to President Bashar al-Assad, the Syrian people and the families of the released captives.
