The Iraqi embassy in Damascus holds a condolence council for the martyrdom of Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis
On January 7, the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Damascus established a condolence council for the martyrdom of the Deputy Head of the Iraqi Popular Units Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis and a group of his fellow fighters.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Faisal al-Meqdad, the Grand Mufti of the Republic Dr. Ahmad Badr al-Din Hassoun, a number of Syrian Arab army officers, leaders and representatives of the Palestinian factions, Islamic scholars and Christian clerics and ambassadors of a number of Arab and foreign countries accredited in Damascus, heads and representatives of parties and popular organizations, and a number of tribal participated in the condolence council.
Dr. Faisal al-Meqdad stressed that the crime committed by the American administration constitutes state terrorism and a crime against humanity.
Dr. Al-Miqdad pointed out that the decision of the Iraqi Parliament demanding the withdrawal of American forces represents the true will, not only for Iraqis, but for all Arabs and Muslims.
Mufti Hassoun said that the two martyrs Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis and General Qassem Soleimani fought the terrorist Daesh organization.
He stressed the steadfastness of the Syrian and Iraqi people and continuing the resistance approach to preserve the unity of the land and the people.
The Yemeni Ambassador to Damascus Nayef Al-Kanas expressed his country’s condemnation of the American aggression.
The Chargé d’Affaires of the Iraqi embassy in Damascus Neran Hashim Shaker thanked the participants for offering condolences.
