QUNEITRA, (ST)- Dean of Syrian and Arab captives in the Israeli occupation’s jails has stressed continuous resistance and struggle against the aggressive practices of the Israeli occupation until the occupied Syrian Golan is liberated.
In a message from inside his prison in Negev in the occupied Palestinian territories sent to his family in the occupied Syrian Golan on Christmas and the New Year, al-Maqt reiterated that occupied Golan will be liberated and return to Syria soon by the heroes of the Syrian Arab Army who continue with their victories over the remaining terrorists that are backed by the Israeli enemy as well as by some regional, Arab and western regimes.
He renewed his refusal to be release from jail under the Israeli occupation’s conditions, stressing rejection of all the Israeli authorities’ practices which aim at breaking his will.
In August 2012, the occupation authorities released Syrian captive Sidqi al-Muqt after 27 years in occupation jails. He was re-arrested on February 25th, 2015 from his house in the town of Majdal Shams in the occupied Syrian Golan. On May 16, 2017, the occupation authorities decided to imprison al-Maqt for 14 years after delaying his trial tens of times.
