Syria’s Olympic football team heads to Thailand to participate in the Asian Finals

Damascus, (ST – The Syrian Olympic Football Team  heads to the Thai capital, Bangkok, today to participate in the Asian U-23 Championship, which will start next Wednesday.

Our team will participate in the finals in the second group where they will face Qatar in the first match next Thursday.They will play with its Japan and Saudi counterparts on the 12th and 15th of this month respectively.

 It is noteworthy  to remember that our team participated in preparatory matches with local and foreign teams  where they were crowned  with the title of  the Int’l China Friendly Tournament that was held last month with the participation of Tajikistan, Mali and China . In addition, our team participated in the Dubai International Championship for national teams and also in an external training camp in Russia.

Our team qualified for the Asian finals after obtaining the best second position during the playoffs, after beating Kyrgyzstan with two goals to none and Kuwait’s team with the same result and the team tied 1-1 with the Jordanian national team.
