Demonstrations continue in front of the American embassy in Baghdad

The Iraqi demonstrators continued today their sit-ins and demonstrations in front of the American Embassy in Baghdad, condemning the American aggression against the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces(PMF), which left dozens of martyrs and many wounded.

Dozens of Iraqi demonstrators gathered opposite the Embassy, renewing their calls to close it and to expelling the American Ambassador from Iraq.
The protests in front of the American embassy in Baghdad escalated on December 31 as protesters burned two doors and garages, while dozens of demonstrators were injured by tear gas canisters fired from inside the Embassy.
Member of the Iraqi Parliament from the Alliance of Al-Fathblock, Saad Al-Khazali said that he collected parliamentary signatures to remove the American forces from Iraq and cancel the security agreement with the United States.
“The year of 2020 will be the title of the withdrawal of the American forces from Iraq,” Khazali said in an interview with Alsumaria News.
“We collected signatures and submitted them in order to include the law of removing American forces on the agenda of the sessions. We will work with full force to pass the law,” he added.
The popular crowd in Iraq announced last Sunday that the sites belonging to it had been bombed by American drones west of Anbar province, which resulted in killing and wounding persons from the PMF, which sparked popular protests in front of the American Embassy in Baghdad to condemn the American aggression.
