Turkey’s CHP rejects Erdogan’s plan to send Turkish troops to Libya

ANKARA, (ST)- The Turkish Republican People’s Party (CHP) has announced its strong opposition of the plan of President of the Turkish regime Recep Tayyip Erdogan to send troops to Libya.

“We refuse to be part of a proxy war,” Reuters quoted the party’s Vice-President Onal Shafiq Oz as saying in a statement Monday, indicating that what Erdogan intends to do would exacerbate the situation in Libya.

Shafiq Oz added “we believe that the draft decision submitted by the government of the Justice and Development Party on sending troops to Libya is a negative issue, clarifying that this matter would widen the impacts of conflicts in the region and create new ones.

The Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has announced that a memorandum of authorization to send Turkish soldiers to Libya will be sent to the Turkish parliament, which is currently dominated by Erdogan’s party.

This announcement coincides with media reports stressing that Erdogan has started to transfer his mercenaries and terrorists from Syria to Libya to fan the security situation there and loot the Libyan resources.
