Commissioned by President al-Assad, Chargé d’Affairs of the Syrian Embassy in Amman visits Bishop Hanna to check on his health
Commissioned by President Bashar al-Assad, Chargé d’Affairs of the Syrian Embassy in Amman, Dr. Shafiq Dayoub visited today Bishop Atallah Hanna, Archbishop of Sebastia of the Greek Orthodox, who is receiving treatment in one of Amman hospitals. The Archbishop Hanna was exposed to a poisoning incident a few days ago in the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate in the occupied Jerusalem.
Dayoub conveyed to Bishop Hanna the greetings of President al-Assad and his wishes for a speedy and complete recovery, affirming Syria’s condemnation of the Zionist entity that used internationally prohibited gases in Jerusalem.
Dayoub highlighted the positions of Bishop Hanna in rejecting the aggression and occupation, wishing for his recovery and return to exercise his distinguished national role as soon as possible.
For his part, Bishop Hanna asked to convey a message of thanks, gratitude and love to President Al-Assad, expressing his deep appreciation for the solidarity of the leadership and people of Syria with Palestine, appreciating the steadfastness and sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army in the face of the terrorist plot against Syria.
Bishop Hanna affirmed his adherence to the principles of the Palestinian people’s rights and just cause, and that Jerusalem will remain the eternal capital of Palestine.
In a press conference yesterday in one of Amman hospitals, Bishop Hanna announced that he was poisoned after inhaling chemicals that were sprayed inside the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate in occupied Jerusalem, stressing that all indications denote that the Israeli occupation is behind the incident.
