Simultaneous terror attacks target Homs oil refinery, a gas plant and al-Rayan Gas station

HOMS, (ST)- Simultaneous terror attacks last night targeted  Homs oil refinery, a gas plant to the south of Syria’s central region as well as al-Rayan Gas station, causing damage to production units.

Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Eng. Ali Ghanem, told reporters during a visit to the refinery that the attacks on the three sites caused damage to some of the production units. and it comes within the framework of the systematic  targeting of the oil sector. He made it clear that the attack on the refinery occurred simultaneously with other attacks on two gas sites in the same mechanism.

A number of production units in the three sites came out of service, but the technical and fire teams were able during the first hours to control and extinguish the fires, evaluate the damage and start maintenance works, the minister said.

These terrorist attacks on oil facilities come while the United States and the Turkish regime, are engaged in the flagrant theft of Syrian oil and gas in Syria’s Al-Jazira region and while Washington is still imposing coercive economic measures and an illegal siege aiming to prevent the delivery of oil and gas supplies to Syria.
