Ravanchi: Iran Will not Bow to USA Arrogance

Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations , Majid Takht Ravanchi , stressed that Tehran will take necessary measures to guarantee its national interests through “unlimited” options, pointing out that the unilateral implementation of the nuclear deal  is “not sustainable.”

During the meeting of the United Nations  Security Council on Thursday to study the report of the Secretary-General of the United Nations on the developments of the implementation of the UN resolution No. 2231 which was issued after the signing of the nuclear deal  , Takht Ravanchi said “ Iran has halted the implementation of some of its obligations in accordance with the paragraphs 26 and 36 of the nuclear deal  in order to create an atmosphere of diplomacy” according to Fars News Agency..

He added  “Iran’s steps can be reversed, despite the damage that the embargo has caused the Iranian people.”

Takht Ravanchi  emphasized that the US economic embargo against his country was illegal, immoral and unjust, underlining that  “It is a shame that American arrogance has stopped the exports of some medicines to Iran and has become a nightmare for some patients.”

Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations  reaffirmed that Iran has respected  its commitments to the terms of the nuclear deal , pointing out at the same time that his country has not and will not bow to arrogance whatever its source and will respond similarly  to the threat and intimidation.

He  indicated  that the request to negotiate with Iran and insist in conjunction with that on imposing a policy of extreme pressure against the Iranian people do not meet. ”

Takht Ravanchi  considered that  obtaining defensive means is  a subjective right in international laws, stressing that Iran will not compromise on its security, whatever the circumstances are..
