Czech academic: What the western countries promoted on Syria since the beginning of the crisis was just a lie

The Executive Director of the Institute of the former Czech President Vaclav Klaus, YirgyeVigel said that developments and facts on the ground in Syria have proven that what Western countries have been promoting politically and through media was not compatible with reality, but was completely false.

“ The facts proved that those who were marketed by the West as a “ democratic opposition” were in fact nothing but a mixture of extremist groups, the majority of which were funded by the Gulf states and the Turkish regime,” Vigil said in an article published in the newspaper LetarnnyNovini on December 17.

Vigel added that all Western plans against the Syrian state failed due to widespread popular support, and therefore Syria has now become close to achieving a complete victory.

He said that the Western geopolitical scheme of what is called the ‘Arab Spring’led to sabotaging the Middle East region economically and politically and disturbing stability in it for a long time.
