Demonstrations in Baghdad condemning US interference in Iraq

BAGHDAD, (ST)- The Iraqi capital, Baghdad, witnessed on Saturday a big demonstration in condemnation of the American interference in Iraq’s affairs and in support for popular calls for reforms.

According to the Iraqi news Agency, thousands of Iraqis from different areas in the capital gathered in al-Fardous square carrying the Iraqi flag and pictures of some Iraqi personalities sanctioned by the United States.

The demonstrators carried placards on which slogans condemning Washington’s interference in the Iraqi internal affairs and its attempts to exploit the popular demonstrations in the country to serve its agenda.

  The United States has recently imposed sanctions on a number of Iraqi personalities under different pretexts.
