Turkish academic: Turkey cannot guarantee its security and interests without cooperation with Syria

On December 8, Professor of International Relations at the University of Okan in Istanbul, Arol Mettagmalar said that Turkey cannot guarantee its security and interests in the region without agreement and cooperation with the Syrian state.

“ Without coordination and cooperation with the Syrian state, Turkey will not be able to find solutions to its internal problems, of course, if it is serious about this issue,” Mettajmalar said in an interview with the Turkish ‘The People’ channel.

Metjalmar stressed the need for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan not to forget that Syria is a country with its unity, independence and sovereignty.

He noted that the good ties with Syria is an essential element that helps Ankara in dealing with all its foreign policy problems, especially the relationship with neighboring countries including Iran, Iraq, Russia and Egypt.

The Turkish regime is launching attacks against a number of cities, villages and towns in the countryside of Hasaka and Raqqa.
