Rouhani: Iran’s budget for next year will be a budget of steadfastness and resistance in face of unfair economic sanctions
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani announced that his country’s budget for next year will be a budget of steadfastness and resistance in face of the unfair economic sanctions against Iran.
During a speech at the Iranian Islamic Shoura Council to discuss the draft budget law today , Rouhani said that “last year the severe economic pressures against us reached their climax, as the Americans and the Zionists imagined that they could prevent Iran’s progress by imposing sanctions but they failed”.
“We say to the whole world that we, despite the sanctions, are now running the country almost without relying on oil revenues” Rouhani added.
He explained that Iran has achieved self-sufficiency in the field of energy and has started exporting gas to various countries of the world, noting that the country’s production of gasoline will reach one million liters per day within months.
Rouhani handed over the draft general budget bill for the coming fiscal year that begins on March 21, 2020 for the Islamic Shura Council.
It is to be mentioned that the Head of the Iranian Planning and Public Budget Organization, Mohammad Baqer Nobakht, stressed that the general budget project is considered the least dependent on oil revenues over the country’s economic history and that its revenues will be allocated exclusively to urban projects.
